Pre-Care & Aftercare Instructions
Good aftercare protects your results. Follow these steps before and after your appointment, plus any specific directions Anh gives you.
Before your appointment
All services
- For 48 hours before: no alcohol or caffeine, and no aspirin, ibuprofen, niacin or vitamin E. Check with your doctor before stopping any prescribed medication.
- For 48 hours before: skip prenatal vitamins and spicy seasonings such as ginger, cinnamon, garlic and peppers.
- Stop fish oil 1 week before.
- Stop Retin-A, chemical peels, microdermabrasion and AHA products 3 weeks before.
- No Botox or filler for 4 weeks before.
- No waxing, tinting or threading near the area for 1 week before.
- Plan to skip workouts for 3 days after, and avoid sun and tanning for 1 week after.
Lip blushing
- Moisturize your lips daily for 1 week before.
- If you are prone to cold sores, ask your doctor about preventive medication before your appointment.
Eyeliner
- Remove lash extensions before your appointment.
- Wear glasses instead of contact lenses on the day.
After your appointment
Brows
- Keep brows dry for at least 3 days.
- Apply a thin layer of Vaseline or Curad ointment twice a day for 3 days.
- Cover the area with plastic wrap before showering or any water exposure.
- For 7–10 days avoid makeup on the area, tinting, sun, swimming, pets and gardening.
- Do not pick, peel or scrub while healing.
Eyeliner
- Ice for 15 minutes right after your session.
- Apply ointment twice a day for 3 days.
- Keep the area dry for 3 days.
- Light flaking for 7–10 days is normal. Do not pick.
Lips
- Ice for 15 minutes right after your session.
- Apply ointment twice a day for 3 days and cover lips before water exposure.
- Rinse lips after eating, then reapply ointment.
- For 2 weeks, Anh recommends avoiding seafood, beef, hot and spicy food and soy sauce.
Healing timeline for brows
- Days 1–3
Keep brows dry and apply a thin layer of Vaseline or Curad ointment twice a day.
- Days 4–10
Light flaking is normal. No makeup, sun, swimming or picking on the area.
- About 2 weeks
The surface is healed. Color keeps softening and settling.
- 4–6 weeks
Touch-up appointment to perfect shape and color.
